The Internal Family Systems (IFS) model of therapy and the human mind was developed by Richard C. Schwartz, PhD. It is based on the concept of having multiple parts or sub-personalities that run our lives. Each of these parts may have its own beliefs, burdens, polarizations, alliances, and other roles within the internal family.
